Looking for ways to improve your bike skills to kick off outdoor season?

Group Leader Sean Langley & Coach Nic van Beurden will work to improve your confidence and ability on the bike by teaching you some of the fundamentals!

Goal:

Bring less experienced/new-to-triathlon athletes together to practice some key cycling skills. Meet some like minded athletes and have some fun at the same time! Also useful for those with intermediate level of cycling skills to work on some of the skills that might need a little more practice! Overall intent is to build confidence with cycling for triathlon so that training & race day are a more fun experience!

Some of the skills that will be taught include (but not limited to):

  • Clipping/unclipping
  • Reaching for and drinking from a bottle on the bike
  • Eating on the bike
  • Passing others safely/knowing what to do when being passed
  • Hand Signalling
  • Changing gears correctly to get maximum efficiency when riding in the wind, etc.

Time: 8:00 - 9:00am. Please arrive 15 mins early to pump tires and be ready for a safety briefing at 8:00 sharp.

Location: Sunnybrook Park (1132 Leslie Street - upper parking lot across from stables)

Other Safety Considerations:

Must have helmet and bike to be in good working order (bring extra tubes in case of flat tire).

Safety is paramount and workouts may be cancelled if conditions warrant risk. Assessment prior to each workout will be done (and during workout). Includes (but not limited to): weather, facilities, other risks, etc
