Spring Training Camp - Collingwood

Back for it's 7th year!

TTC Spring Training Clinic is 4 days and 3 Nights, with the same upgraded accommodations as last 2 years!  (We even have the more renovated chalets this year!) .

This camp is geared at those looking to increase strength on hills go long as all our rides are over 2 hours, some up to 5 hours.  You need a road or tri bike.  Hybrids are not recommended for this terrain. This camp is not recommended for beginner riders.

You also need to have your own tire changing kit (tubes, C02, tire levers) on your bike.

You'll have the opportunity to do four (4), 2+ hour rides. 

There will be a dedicated swim workout (maybe 2) and a team triathlon competition on Sunday if all are interested. 

Group talks on Nutrition, Bike Safety, Motivation, and Transition will be throughout the weekend.   Swim workout will be coached.  Massage therapy will also be available.

A support vehicle will be en route for our long rides on Saturday and Sunday to carry extra water and offer assistance where needed. If you are interested in driving the van or donating your vehicle for either Saturday or Sunday, let us know!

Optional swim and ride on Friday for those who arrive early.

We are looking for ride leaders for 50k, 90k and 120k distances of various riding abilities. Please email exec-director@torontotriathlonclub.org or note your interest on the registration form.

New this year: Catered Meals!

For an additional $35 all your meals will be provided.  All food will be gluten free and dairy free to minimize allergies.  We will have a meat and vegan option.  For just $5 per meal we will keep you well fed.  What meals are included:

  • Friday- Light meal at 7:30pm. 
  • Saturday-  Breakfast, light lunch for post ride, dinner. 
  • Sunday - Breakfast, light lunch post ride, (dinner is out in the village if you choose to join us- not included in camp fee or meal fee),
  • Monday Breakfast.

About accommodations:

We have 3 almost identical chalets off of Blue Mountain Rd.  Each chalet has a complete kitchen, 3 full bathrooms, 1 half bath, a hot tub, a steam bath, 2 gas fireplaces and a washer/dryer.  The chalet is equipped with cable tv, DVD/VCR, high speed internet as well.

Each Chalet has:

3 Bedrooms with 1 queen bed (sleeps 2)
2 bedrooms with 3 beds (some bunks)

Friday: 

3:00-5:30pm - Optional Ride

7:00 - Welcome / Introductions / dinner snack

7:30- Nutrition & Safety talk & tire changing

Saturday:

6am- Breakfast

7am - early departure for 120k route, run off the bike

8am - departure for 60 & 90k route, run off the bike

2pm - Group Yoga with Alice Chatterrungirl Toyonaga

4pm- Swim (Collingwood)

5:15pm - Nutrition for Triathletes with Tara

6:30pm - Dinner (catered)

Sunday - Team Challenge Day!

7am - swim - Wasaga beach YMCA, 100m TT

9am - Bike  60-90k (1k Time trial), run off the bike (1k sprint)

3pm - Strength Training Demo

4pm -Group talk 

6pm- Group dinner out & awards (not included in price)

Monday

8am - Transition clinic

9am - 2 hour Ride (scenic caves) or Optional Long Run

12pm - Pack up / go home


Working Menu.  Ingredients subject to change based on seasonal availability.  All meals will be gluten free and dairy free.  There is a meat and vegan protein option.

Friday night:

Build your own Tostadas:
-chicken, black bean spread, avocado, salsas,

Saturday breakfast:
- gluten free hot cereal with nuts and berries
- freshly baked gluten/ dairy free muffins, fruit and nuts
Saturday lunch
- Quinoa salad chicken or vegan.

Saturday dinner
-  BBQ - quinoa and black bean burgers,
-Marinated grilled chicken breasts, grilled veg, baked and sweet potatoes

Sunday breakfast
 - gluten free hot cereal with nuts and berries
- freshly baked gluten/ dairy free muffins, fruit and nuts

Sunday lunch
- Pasta salad with protein ( meat and vegan option)

Monday breakfast
- gluten free hot cereal with nuts and berries - freshly baked gluten/ dairy free muffins, fruit and nuts.

Refund Policy:

Refunds can be issued up until April 16, 2014 (one month prior to the event). After that date, no refunds will be issued and you will be responsible to find a replacement if there is no wait list.
