Starting Tuesday June 22 - 5 Week Bike Skills Series

Looking for ways to improve your bike skills this summer?

Coach Teresa will work to improve your confidence and ability on the bike by teaching you some of the fundamentals!

Goal:

Bring less experienced / new-to-triathlon athletes together to practice some key cycling skills. Meet some like minded athletes and have some fun at the same time! Also useful for those with intermediate level of cycling skills to work on some of the skills that might need a little more practice! Overall intent is to build confidence with cycling for triathlon so that race day is a fun experience!

Some of the skills that will be taught include (but not limited to):

· Mount / dismount safely

· Reaching for and drinking from a bottle on the bike

· U-turns and sharp turnarounds

· Passing others safely / knowing what to do when being passed

· Changing gears correctly to get maximum efficiency when riding in the wind, etc.

Will also ride some “intervals” at varying intensities – so athletes will also get a workout!

Option to do a short run off the bike at the end of each session if desired.

Time:

Please meet at 6:15pm for a prompt 6:30 pm start

Location:

Meet at Max Ward Park: 2380 Matheson Blvd. (Mississauga) – located near Renforth and Eglinton. Public parking available with potentially some porta potties in the area (at last check).

Other Safety Considerations:

Must have helmet and bike to be in good working order (bring extra tubes in case of flat tire).

Safety is paramount and workouts may be cancelled if conditions warrant risk. Assessment prior to each workout will be done (and during workout). Includes (but not limited to): weather, facilities, other risks, etc
