TTF Training 5-Week Clinic
Are you racing the Toronto Triathlon Festival? Get Race Ready in 5 weeks! Join the TTC for a 5 week clinic to prepare yourself for TTF this year. This clinic will discuss how to train for the race, break down the course components, provide practice in valuable triathlon training skills and have weekly workshops to help you ace your TTF experience.
TTC has partnered with the TTF since year one and our coaches know what it takes to get you to the start line healthy and trained so that you can enjoy the TTF experience fully.
Tara Postnikoff is an NCCP Certified Triathlon coach (Comp Intro) and has been training triathletes since 2010. She is also an accomplished age group triathlete who has won her AG in both the Sprint and Olympic distance at TTF and who has competed in the inaugural Mixed Team Relay event last year.
This 5 week Clinic will launch on Monday, June 10th at 6:30pm. Each class will be approximately 75 minutes. There will be a limit of 15 participants so you can get lots of one on one feedback and ask detailed questions.

Week 1 at RPAC - June 10th from 6:30 to 7:45pm
Join us for the introduction session where we will talk training for the TTF. This includes how to set up your training plan for the next as well as review the course et up and important information you should know. We will also talk briefly about nutrition and how to fuel for your triathlon.
Week 2 at Riverdale Track/Gordon Brown Pool – Monday, June 17th from 6:30pm to 9pm
To make up for the long weekend, we will have a 2 part session tonight! First, we will hit the track for a session on running drills, mechanics and a short intensity session. Afterwards, join us for a pool session to dive into open water swim skills, stroke evaluation as well as training sets to get your ready for the TTF swim component. On deck with us will be Miranda Tomenson, Head Coach of the TTC and experienced swim coach for over 16 years.
Week 3 at Sunnybrook Park - Monday, June 24 from from 6:30 to 7:45pm
Bring your bike tonight for some bike and transition skills. We will take you through the paces of key skills required in a triathlon like clipping in and out, hill climbing, transition lessons and practice (so you can gain free speed). We’ll also review bike technique and training. *Bring your bike, bike shoes, helmet and running shoes.
Week 4 at at RPAC - Monday, July 8 from 6:30 to 7:45pm

Join us for a classroom session where we will talk nutrition and logistics for the TTF. This includes how to fuel in your training leading up to TTF and during your race. We will also go through course logistics, including the day prior and the day of your race so there will be no surprises on race day.
Week 5 at Cherry Beach - Monday, July 15 from 6:30 to 7:45pm
Our final night will consist of a wrap up at Cherry Beach. We will review the last 4 weeks and talk about race prep, race pacing strategies as well mental strategies to get you successfully to the finish line. Weather permitting we will put all three sports together in a mini-triathlon so you have an idea of how it will feel on race day.
