Geared to beginners, this two hour session will include a discussion on how swimming, and the coaching theory around it, has evolved in recent years. It will also include a class on how to properly warm up before getting in the water, whether it be for a practice or a high profile race.
The swim session will focus on proper body placement and posture in the water as well as developing the basic mechanics of the freestyle stroke.
This clinic is for anyone who has experience in the pool but wishes to advance their technique to an intermediate level, Athletes must be able to swim 100 metres unassisted in a short course metres pool without touching the bottom.
Needed: appropriate swim wear, goggles and preferably a swim cap and a water bottle, warm clothes for deck.
No fins, paddles or pull buoys will be used in this clinic.
The goal of this clinic is to increase the speed, flexibility and the efficiency of the athletes in the water while fostering a love of the sport.
