We are pleased to announce that club President Phil Dale has accepted the position of Executive Director with Triathlon Ontario. As a result, he will be stepping down as Club President due to the potential for conflict of interest issues that may arise in his new role. Current Board Member Jon Hopkins (Vice-President) will be assuming the role of interim President for the remainder of the year, effective immediately.

On behalf of the Board, we would like to thank Phil for the significant contributions he has made to our club over the past 2 years which includes facilitating the Community Sponsor partnership with TTF, managing the design and distribution of new club gear, and acting as liason with Triathlon Ontario, to name a few.

Please join me in congratulating Phil and wishing him all the best in his new role!

    The Toronto Triathlon Club

    Note from Outgoing President

Unfortunately, as a result of my new position with Triathlon Ontario I have to step down as President of the Toronto Triathlon Club.  It has truly been a pleasure to be the Club's President this year and its been very rewarding to see so many members enjoying all of the great activities we've tried to offer this year.

With our membership at its largest level in our history and our program offering the best it's ever been, I'm proud to have contributed in some small way to what is no doubt, our greatest year so far as a club.

I wish everyone success in reaching your goals as the race season begins to unfold.  See you all in Tremblant! -Phil Dale

The TTF and the Toronto Triathlon Club are pleased to announce The Toronto Triathlon Club Challenge at the 2013 Toronto Triathlon Festival, a competition for all qualifying clubs.

The Toronto Triathlon Club and the TTF are putting up $3,000 as a prize purse – 60% for First Place, 30% for Second Place and 10% for Third Place. We have made a 3 year commitment as supporting partner for this competition, so let's try and take it in the first year!

Our best 10 TTF results will count towards TTC's club score, so the more entrants per club, the more choices we will have to comprise the Top Ten. Individual results will be based on overall ranking within gender (per race) and the club with the lowest aggregate total wins.

Currently, the Toronto Triathlon Club, the Ryerson Triathlon Club and the Windsor Triathlon Club are registered to take each other on during the 2013 TTF. Wear your club jerseys with pride for a chance to win bragging rights and cash prizes. Hope you see you out there racing or cheering on our members in July!

On Tuesday May 7th Nigel Gray held a clinic on 'Racing Short and Fast', focusing on training strategies and race tips specifically for sprint and olympic distance triathlons.

We had a great turnout at Enduro Sport and raffled away a few prizes, including a free entry to the 2013 Toronto Triathlon Festival, of which we are a Community Sponsor!

In case you missed it, Nigel's slideshow has been updated to the Clinic and Seminar Notes page in the Members Section: Link

    Member Reviews:

"I did enjoy it, Nigel is a crazy knowledgeable speaker, and yes my expectations were met. The breakdown of the training program/plan was helpful (i.e that he gaves us examples of various options for tempo, interval & brick work) & the timing of the talk was good too (early enough so that you can make adjustments to training, and yet not TOO early so that you sort of forget the key messages)"

"I really enjoyed it! As someone who just started in the sport last year, this is the type session that I could have really used then. I was looking for a "sprint 101" overview and believe the session provided that. It was structured in a way that a newbie wasn't lost and a more seasoned person could learn or ask more detailed questions.
The speaker presents well and is able to clearly articulate the concepts for his audience. Would love to hear more of his race day strategies and lessons learned.
As a new member, I also appreciated the chance to meet others at the social afterwards."
