Are you a beginner swimmer who wants to swim faster? Do you find yourself tiring quickly in the swim? Do you just want to feel fresher when you get out of the water? Then our beginner stroke improvement clinic is for you!
What is it?
On Saturday Dec 5th, our swim coach Eric Vanderbeek is putting on a 2-hour Beginner Swim Stroke Improvement Clinic at Rosedale Heights SS starting from 1-3 pm. The goal of the clinic is to increase speed in the pool by improving flexibility and efficiency, while also fostering a love for the sport.
This clinic will focus on:
  • body position and posture in the water,
  • developing the basic mechanics of the freestyle stroke.
Geared to beginners, this two hour session will include:
  • a discussion on how swimming, and the coaching theory around it, has evolved in recent years.
  • a class on how to properly warm up before getting in the water, whether it be for a practice or a high profile race.
Coach
Eric Vanderbeek swam at the highest echelons of Canadian swimming for years and has since turned his passion for the sport to coaching.

Limit: 18 participants
